Stephanie Duran has taken over as Acting CEO of the Asia Natural Gas and Energy Association (ANGEA) following the departure of Paul Everingham on June 30.
Ms Duran, who joined ANGEA as Deputy CEO in early March, said she was excited by the opportunity to lead the organisation into the next stages of its development.
“ANGEA has become an important figure in the regional energy ecosystem, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with governments and industries across Asia and in supply countries,” Ms Duran said.
“ANGEA and its members firmly believe that natural gas and LNG will remain integral to energy security and decarbonisation throughout Asia.
“ANGEA will also continue to advance carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Asia, contributing to the development of policy and regulation that promotes the establishment of cross-boundary CO2 value chains.”
ANGEA Chair Ryosuke Tsugaru, JERA’s Senior Managing Executive Officer and Chief Low Carbon Fuel Officer, thanked Mr Everingham for his contribution and welcomed Ms Duran to the role.
Ms Duran previously served for more than 25 years with the United States Department of Energy and has worked in Asia for nearly 10 years.
“Stephanie has impressed the ANGEA membership greatly with her strong regional insights, strategic approach and enthusiasm,” Mr Tsugaru said.
“ANGEA fills a key role in energy in Asia and Stephanie’s leadership will drive ongoing development of the organisation’s capabilities and impact.”
