The Association – or ANGEA – is an industry association being established and set up in Singapore, representing LNG producers, energy buyers, suppliers and companies.
It is supported by its members, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, JERA, JGC, LNG Japan, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Santos, Sumitomo Corporation and Woodside Energy.
Its purpose is to work constructively with governments, society and industry to build effective and integrated energy policies that promotion national and regional economically sustainable growth.
ANGEA’s main mission is to align the energy industry to assist regional governments environmental, economic, and social objectives.
Natural gas is a strategic, reliable and secure energy source across Asia Pacific which supports social and economic growth as the region evolves towards a long-term lower carbon and renewable energy mix
ANGEA will collaborate with governments and policy makers to help them meet their climate and carbon emission reduction policy objectives, recognizing country specific requirements.
ANGEA is governed by a Board comprised of senior representatives of the Association’s founding members.
Each board member represents the region’s natural gas and energy industry and brings deep experience and impeccable character to guide the Association in its efforts.
Foundation members will appoint an Eminent Persons Advisory Council, a group of independent and regionally, if not globally, respected experts, who will provide high level expertise across a range of policy areas to the Board and executive team.
ANGEA’s founding members individually saw the potential for natural gas to become an important component in Asia Pacific’s transition to renewable energy sources.
Forming ANGEA was central to each member’s motivation to contribute to the region’s energy transition journey, with an opportunity to collaborate with governments as they develop the necessary energy policies to support their energy transition objectives.
