Ryosuke Tsugaru was appointed Senior Managing Executive Officer and Chief Low Carbon Fuel Officer (CLCFO) of JERA in April 2024. In this role, he oversees the LNG value chain and leads the development of hydrogen and ammonia value chains.

With a career spanning over three decades, Ryosuke has devoted himself to the global energy sector. He possesses deep expertise in LNG projects and a profound understanding of the LNG value chain.

Stephanie Duran took over as Acting CEO of ANGEA on 1 July 2026, having joined the organisation as Deputy CEO in March. Stephanie has 25 years of experience working as a foreign affairs specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), where she led energy and national security initiatives.

Stephanie has dedicated much of her career to advancing international collaboration on carbon capture and storage (CCS).  Most recently, as the Energy Attaché and Director of DOE’s China Office, she successfully restarted U.S.-China technical cooperation on CCS.  She also managed international and external partnerships on carbon management for DOE.

Laila Nowell joined ANGEA in February 2024 as Chief of Staff, returning to familiar territory after starting her career working offshore in oil and gas in Australia for Schlumberger and supporting projects in the Asia Pacific for OneSubsea.

A qualified geologist who also has qualifications in international relations, Laila has spent much of the past decade working in specialist roles in the Asia Pacific resources sector, with a strong focus on policy development, government relations, and stakeholder engagement.

Hanh Le serves as Senior Advisor on Cross-border CCS policies at ANGEA and led the development of the groundbreaking Accelerating Cross-Border CCS in Asia Pacific Study in 2024.

Based in Bangkok, Hanh frequently speaks at events around Asia about CCS and has worked in low-carbon technologies and decarbonisation for 20 years, including advising New Zealand's Minister for Energy on CCS in the late 2000s.
